On September 8th, 2016, the DSD Professional Development team presented in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to 112 amazing educators from the Grant Wood Area Education Agency. The group was composed of 21 Administrators, 31 Coaches, and 60 Teachers

The Kickoff Workshop to Blended Learning for the 2016-17 school started at exactly 8:30 am and ended at 3:30 pm. Our day was consisted of the Top 10 List for Blended Learning, Exploration of Phase 1 in Eight 10 minute rotations, planning for Phase 1, Lunch, Blended learning Phase 2 Keynote, and planning for Phase 2.

Technology Showcase
As part of the Kick of to Blended learning Workshop, we showcased technology tools that would promote high levels of student engagement, adaptive learning, quality data, and classroom management applications. Next Steps
To continue the amazing work that we accomplished in one day, the coaches and the Blended learning Links will continue to meet with Marcia Kish once a month. The once a month meetings will be virtual meetings that will be recorded for all of the coaches to watch and learn from throughout the year.
In January, the administrators, coaches, and teachers will meet again at Grant Wood Area Education Agency to continue to build upon Phase 1 and Phase 2. Our goal will be to introduce the Phase 3 concept, Project Based Learning, and Growth Mindset.
